Do we have to spell it out to you ?

‘Do we have to spell it out to you’ is a typographic project developed from found lettering designed to engage with wider student communities. During September 2020 Students formed their own language by sticking post it notes to windows: yellow, orange, pink and green became accents and size and shape became volume in the crowd of student accommodation. The rectangular nature of the post it note gives a sans serif style to the lettering and acts as a modular, accessible tool kit for political typographic design. Students could connect with the real world from all sloping angles, great heights and across from bedroom windows which is what makes the lettering so unique and organic.
